Winter

Winter is a really cool time to see Ptarmigan Lake Lodge - literally! In late spring (March) the days are longer and the nights are not so bitter. The aurora borealis is beautifully lights the night sky and the long spring days allow for great travel. You'll be amazed at our winter wonder playground.

Winter is a great time to easily access any part of the entire park by snowmobile. Trips that take five days in the summer by foot or horseback take only a day in the winter by snowmobile. You can access an enormous amount of country in a short period of time by snowmobile and the country is absolutely spectacular in the winter. The quiet, the snow, the aurora and the alpine glow on the mountainside - it's almost out of this world, but entirely within your reach!
