Where Are We?
Ptarmigan Lake Lodge is located within the Wrangell-St. Elias National Park, the largest national park in the United States and a gem of pristine wilderness. The lodge is more than a hundred overland miles from the nearest town, Tok - a short, one hour scenic flight by small plane.
Our retreat is nestled next to a freshwater lake, surrounded by the Wrangell Mountains, and overlooks the White River drainage. Because we are within the park boundary the wildlife is abundant, living undisturbed in their natural habitat.
There is unparalleled beauty here, a truly pristine place where the wildlife is not scared, where the fish are huge, and the air is clean and fresh. There are miles of untouched wilderness to explore, mountains to be the first to climb, glaciers to walk on, 30lb lake trout to catch, horses to ride over high passes, and peace to be found.
Guests fly into Fairbanks then go onto Tok, Alaska via private car or charter plane. Please contact us for further information and details regarding transportation and transfers to and from the lodge.
