Horse-Pack Trips

At Ptarmigan, the horses serve as transportation and recreation. Take a half-day ride, or become a true Alaskan wrangler on our 6-day pack trip. Horses are the ultimate eco-friendly people movers! Their impact on the environment is minimal, allowing us to get close to wildlife, carry more gear, and see this great land from a seated position.

No previous riding experience is required – our horses are gentle and sure-footed. We hand pick our stock from ridge-top raised herds in Canada. There is no better way to travel through mountain country!
