Lodge Accommodations
The lodge was built in 1959, with all the materials flown in by small plane. Constructed single-handedly by the owner, it is a genuine homestead in the wilderness. The lodge is rich with true, simple comforts and authentic charm. Six private bedrooms receive our guests; two hot saunas are available to loosen the body and relax the mind. Meals are eaten in front of picture windows looking out over Ptarmigan Lake and Mt. Natazhat (13,435').
Meals are prepared by our Chef, Norma, with years of professional cooking experience. Lodge meals are known throughout the park for being hearty and healthy; we strive to use local produce, and Norma will cook anything you catch! We are more than happy to cater to individual dietary needs; let us know ahead of time, and whatever you need or want will be waiting for you!
We deeply value the pristine and unblemished environment that Ptarmigan Lake Lodge is surrounded by. The lodge is 90% solar powered, with minimal generator use. We use a gray-water recycling system that reduces water consumption from the lake and employ sustainable harvesting techniques our firewood.
